FilingDiff ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

What We Collect

Account data

• Email address — used for login, email alerts, and account communications.
• Password — stored as a salted hash; we never see or store your plaintext password.

Usage data

• Which tickers you view and when.
• Reports generated (to enforce the free-tier monthly cap).
• Session metadata (IP address, login timestamps) for security monitoring.

Payment data

Pro subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full card details. We receive a Stripe customer ID, subscription status, and last-four digits of the card for display purposes only.

What We Do NOT Collect

• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to anyone.
• We do not build advertising profiles from your usage.
• We collect no data beyond what is necessary to operate the Service.

Third Parties

• Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions.
• Ad network (free tier only) — display ads on free report pages. The ad network may set its own cookies; see our Cookie Policy for details.
• Analytics — we use privacy-friendly analytics (e.g. Plausible) that do not use cookies or track individuals.

Data Retention

• Account data is kept while your account is active.
• Upon account deletion request, we delete your data within 30 days.
• Anonymized, aggregated usage statistics (e.g. "500 reports generated today") may be retained indefinitely.

Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

You may request:

• Access — a copy of all data we hold about you.
• Correction — update inaccurate data.
• Deletion — erase your account and associated data.
• Export — receive your data in a portable format.

Security

We use HTTPS, salted password hashing, and session-based authentication with concurrent session limits. While no system is 100% secure, we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be emailed to registered users.
